June 15, 2010 - CTV and CBC news converged on
the Hampton Inn and Conference Centre on June 9 to see just what
all the "SEO" fuss was
about.
The newly formed Ottawa Web Marketing Club held their second sold
out event (Winning the War on Google), featuring none other than
New York City based SEO expert and best-selling author Rebecca
Lieb.
Paul Brent of CTV News filed two reports on the executive learning
breakfast:
Is Your Website Search Engine Friendly? and,
SEO Spells Success in the Web World,
while Chad Pawson
of CBC filed a story for the popular CBC Radio One news program and
sent a Tweet about the club while there.
Ottawa Web Marketing Club (OWMC) founder and MB's CEO, Steve Klein, had
this to say about the latest buzz on the club: "Mainstream coverage
is a testament to how hot the Web is and how relevant the club is.
We've brought world-class speakers to the city. Rebecca Lieb was a
big hit."
Events Coordinator Jake Naylor sees the success of OWMC in two
parts: "First, as an indication of the growing importance of having
a strong web presence, and secondly, as a place to provide relevant
networking opportunities."
Only months old and already boasting a membership of well over
three hundred and fifty, the Ottawa Web Marketing Club shows no
signs of slowing down. In fact, the club just keeps growing. Stay
tuned to ottawawebmarketingclub.ca
or to MB's site for the latest news on the club,
including the announcement of the club's next event.
